Job summary

The VA Phoenix Health Care System is seeking a Gastroenterology and Hepatology physician to provide comprehensive medical and specialty services for both outpatients and inpatients. The physician will perform GI procedures such as upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy and offer specialty consultation as needed.

Candidates must meet VA qualification standards including an MD or DO degree, an active unrestricted license in the United States, completion of an accredited residency, and board

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the United States.
• Completion of accredited residency leading to eligibility for board certification.
• Board certification preferred or required for faculty status in some settings.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive GI medical and selected specialty services for outpatients and inpatients.
• Perform GI procedures including upper endoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy.
• Offer specialty consultations and participate in multidisciplinary care.
• Teach and supervise physician trainees and participate in quality assurance and committees.
