Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is seeking a GI Tech to support the GI Endoscopy Services Unit. You will coordinate daily endoscopy schedules and provide instruments and supplies to proceduralists, with guidance from charge nurses or physicians as needed.

The role requires competence in preparing instrumentation for disinfection and maintaining a safe perioperative environment, contributing to high-quality patient care across endoscopy clinics.

Qualifications

• Allied health credentials and licensure as applicable.
• Experience assisting in endoscopy procedures preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization and instrument handling a plus.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care, by assisting the proceduralist before, during and after endoscopy procedures.
• Plans, sets up, performs and cleans up the assigned endoscopy procedure.
• Maintains the work environment in a safe, clean, orderly manner.
• Performs, documents and monitors all quality control tools.
• Receives and inventories departmental supplies, instrumentation and equipment.
• Prepares instrumentation and equipment for high-level disinfection and sterilization.
• Operates all departmental equipment safely and effectively.
• Provides technical support and assists in instrument selection for Endoscopy Procedures.
