Job summary

Stormont Vail Health in Topeka, KS is seeking a GI Technical Specialist (Acute) to assist physicians and RNs during endoscopic procedures. You will prepare rooms and endoscopes, ensure equipment is clean and functioning, and support with logging, specimen collection, and room turnover.

The role requires completion of GI Associates program or equivalent certification, and current CNA/EMT/MA/Surgical Tech training or nursing student in first semester.

Qualifications

• Completion of GI Associates program with certificate within 90 days of hire date.
• Completion of Surgical Tech, Medical Assistant, CNA, EMT or Patient Care Technician program.
• Current nursing student completed 1st semester.

Responsibilities

• Assists physician and GI RN before, during and after diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
• Sets up and maintains endoscopic suites and prepares rooms/endoscopes for patient use.
• Performs cleaning, high level disinfection and scope reprocessing per policy.
• Troubleshoots processors, GI software, and automated reprocessing machines.
• Responds to on-call requirements and supports in emergency procedures.
