Job summary

Gastroenterology Specialties, PC is seeking an RN or LPN to join our physician-owned gastroenterology practice. The role focuses on telephone triage, patient education, care coordination, and clinical documentation, with some direct patient care in the clinic.

Working closely with physicians and the clinical team, you will manage patient inquiries, coordinate care plans, assist with procedures, and support a patient-centered, collaborative environment in a busy outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer-based workflows.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient calls, messages, pharmacy requests, and communications from hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare providers.
• Gather patient information, assess concerns, and communicate findings to the physician for review and direction.
• Coordinate patient care by carrying out provider orders and documenting appropriately in the electronic medical record.
• Educate patients regarding medications, test results, treatment plans, and procedure preparation instructions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to ensure timely completion of patient care tasks.
• Provide clinic coverage as needed, including rooming patients, obtaining vitals, and assisting with patient care activities.
• Complete pre-procedure assessments, checklists, and preparation reviews for scheduled procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection prevention, safety, and organizational policies.
• Contribute to a positive, team-oriented environment focused on exceptional patient experiences.
