Job summary

La Petite Labs is seeking a Fractional Science Advisor to strengthen the scientific framework behind healthy-aging programs and to advise on research priorities and evaluation of longevity interventions.

You will review emerging aging biology literature across mammals and companion animals, assess translational relevance, and help identify high-value questions, biomarkers, endpoints, and hypotheses for product and research decisions.

Qualifications

  • PhD or equivalent terminal training in geroscience, aging biology, physiology, metabolism, comparative biology, or closely related field.
  • 5+ years of postdoctoral, academic, clinical, or industry work directly relevant to aging biology.
  • Strong peer-reviewed publication record.
  • Deep familiarity with primary literature in aging and healthspan.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate translational evidence rather than mechanism alone.
  • Strong experimental-design and scientific reasoning skills.
  • Excellent technical writing.

Responsibilities

  • Review emerging aging biology literature across mammals and companion animals.
  • Evaluate interventions targeting age-related functional decline.
  • Advise on mitochondrial biology, cellular energetics, senescence, inflammaging, metabolic health, frailty, cognition, muscle preservation, and resilience.
  • Assess translational relevance across dogs, cats, humans, and experimental models.
  • Review mechanisms, biomarkers, proposed endpoints, and intervention hypotheses.
  • Identify high-value research questions and evidence gaps.
  • Contribute to scientific frameworks used in product and research decisions.
  • Review selected research protocols, technical reports, and scientific communications.
