Job summary

Summa Health System is seeking a part-time Behavioral Health Associate for the Gero Psych Unit. The role supports the multidisciplinary team under RN supervision, monitoring patient behaviors, documenting observations, and assisting with non-clinical duties to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate has direct patient experience in behavioral health or medical settings, strong teamwork and communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively in emergencies.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English and perform basic math.
• Direct patient experience in behavioral health or medical settings preferred.
• Demonstrated teamwork and effective communication in a clinical environment.
• Must be able to respond calmly in crisis situations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report patient behaviors as part of the multidisciplinary team.
• Provide continuous patient care and document observations and activities.
• Assist with safety measures and respond to crisis and medical emergencies as needed.
• Support patient care team with non-clinical duties as required (environmental, dietary, transportation, supplies).
