Job summary

The Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System of the Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with Geriatric Medicine credentials or long-term care experience to join our Geriatric and Extended Care Program. You will provide comprehensive care for older Veterans in a multidisciplinary VA environment.

Responsibilities include supervision of fellows and residents, collaboration with the Medical Director, and teaching in a VA/CLC setting

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• MD or DO with a valid license in the United States.
• Board Certified in Internal or Family Medicine with Geriatric Medicine training or long-term care experience.
• Fellowship in Geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care of older adults in long-term care settings.
• Collaborate with physicians, NPs, PAs, nursing, and other healthcare professionals.
• Supervise and teach geriatrics fellows, residents, and trainees.
• Partner with Medical Director for QA and administrative tasks.
• Provide care for elderly patients with complex needs in a VA Community Living Center (CLC).
• Maintain QA and meet administrative needs in the CLC setting.
• Collaborate with Medical Director for quality assurance and administrative needs in nursing home care.
