Job summary
CareMed Health Solutions seeks a Wound NP to provide comprehensive wound care for residents in long-term care facilities. The role requires ordering tests, prescribing medications (including controlled substances per Arkansas law), and coordinating with nursing staff and primary care physicians.
Ideal candidates will have an unrestricted AR NP license, board certification, and wound care experience with complex wounds.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted NP license in Arkansas.
- Board certification in a relevant specialty.
- DEA licensure is optional.
- Experience in wound care, especially chronic, stalled, or infected wounds.
- Familiar with diagnosing/treating diabetic, arterial, venous, or Kennedy ulcers.
- Comfort staging pressure injuries per NPIAP.
- Familiar with advanced wound care products and wound vacs.
- Experience with DME and pressure-relieving devices.
Responsibilities
- Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Arkansas law.
- Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
- Communicate with nursing home staff about changes in condition and care plans.
- Collaborate with the primary care physician to coordinate patient care.
