Job summary

North Ridge Health and Rehab in New Hope, MN, is hiring a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist to join our caring clinical team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

You will plan and implement the Therapeutic Recreation program to meet residents' physical, mental, psycho-social, and spiritual needs. Schedule is 8:00am–4:30pm, one Saturday every other month.

Qualifications

• Interest in working with geriatric residents.
• Ability to learn and follow therapeutic recreation techniques and documentation.
• Willing to participate in events and maintain enthusiasm during programs.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Certification in Therapeutic Recreation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct activity programs under direct supervision.
• Assist with outings and transport residents to programs.
• Recruit and escort residents to and from activities.
• Conduct one-to-one therapeutic visits with residents.
• Assist in planning special events.
• Manage a caseload and record daily attendance.
• Contribute input for care/family conferences.
• Assist with decorations and publicity of programs.
