Job summary

Selectis Health, Inc. is seeking a Speech Therapist to provide comprehensive services to residents in a nursing facility.

Under general supervision, you will screen, evaluate, and implement speech and language development programs tailored to residents’ needs. Responsibilities include diagnosing and treating speech, language, hearing, and oral motor disorders, assessing receptive and expressive skills, and communicating progress to the care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech Therapy.
• Current license in state of practice.
• Certification, if applicable, and demonstrated competency in identified areas of specialization.
• Organized and detailed in work performance.
• Good communication skills with excellent self-discipline and patience.
• Genuine caring for and interest in elderly and disabled people in a nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Examines, tests, diagnoses, and administers treatments for residents with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders, and oral motor disorders.
• Performs evaluations with attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation, and auditory skills.
• Maintains communication with the resident and others concerned regarding progress, problems, home programs, and other issues related to the therapeutic process.
• Facilitates behavior management in residents and families as appropriate to the needs of the resident.
• Maintains records of work performed.
