Job summary

The American Geriatrics Society in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a full time Skilled Nursing Facility Physician (SNFist). The successful candidate will provide clinical care for inpatients in a skilled nursing facility, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to manage medically complex geriatric patients.

Qualifications

• Must be BC/BE in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine or fellowship trained in Geriatrics.
• Experience in providing emergency medical care to geriatric residents.
• Ability to work on interdisciplinary care teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for inpatients in a skilled nursing facility.
• Organize and participate in daily care team meetings.
• Discuss care goals and advanced directives with patients and families.
• Oversee Nurse Practitioners providing care services.

Skills

Autonomy in high acuity patient care

Ability to facilitate care team meetings

Experience with hospice care

Knowledge of advanced directives

Education

BC/BE IM/FM or fellowship training in Geriatrics
