Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or Registered Nurse program.
• Current, unrestricted LPN/LVN or RN license in the state of practice.
• Knowledge of long-term care regulations, resident rights, and skilled nursing facility standards.
• Experience providing direct patient care to geriatric and long-term care populations.
• Ability to administer medications, treatments, and physician-ordered therapies safely and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Record a patient’s medical history accurately.
• Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate, etc.
• Observe patients under treatment to identify progress and side-effects.
• Monitor patients’ condition and compose patient charts.
• Assist patients with daily activities such as eating and bathing.
• Administer medications and therapies as prescribed.
• Collect samples for lab testing as assigned.
• Provide emotional and psychological support when needed.
• Communicate with patients’ families to provide advice and comfort.
