Job summary

Glengariff Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in New York is seeking a full-time Respiratory Therapist to join a skilled nursing team. Must hold a state license and be able to evaluate and treat independently, with a focus on geriatric care.

The role includes evaluating and treating residents, initiating therapies, maintaining records, and performing diverse bedside treatments. Weekend coverage is required, with shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours, and compensation is $45-$55 per hour.

Qualifications

Graduate of COARC accredited AS or BS Respiratory program.
Licensed as RRT or CRT in the practicing state.
BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Completes assessments and implements respiratory therapy to rehab patients with various respiratory illnesses/diseases.
Initiates therapies, maintains patient records, operates, checks, and assembles equipment.
Completes a variety of bedside treatments.
Performs quarterly in-services for nursing staff.
Responsible for daily, weekly and monthly documentation.
Attends applicable IDT meetings.
Experience with tracheotomy.
Experience in a long-term care setting.
Follows facility procedures and protocols; completes tracking, auditing and caseload management.
Performs related duties as required.
