Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of APTA accredited PTA school and eligible for licensure in the state they are practicing in.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PT in providing physical therapy treatments to residents as determined by the Plan of Care.
• Manage caseload with supervisor by scheduling treatment individually or in groups while maintaining efficiency.
• Instruct resident, family, and caregivers in PT to be continued upon discharge.
• Adhere to PPS guidelines, ensure all PT documentation/treatment conforms to documentation/billing policies and procedures.
• Work with PT, provide oversight and direction of techs and assist in supervision and education of affiliating students.
• Assist in ensuring the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly and safe.
• Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy; comply with Residents’ Bill of Rights; report grievances to administrator/Director of Nursing.
• Maintain professional competence via continuing education; attend mandatory in-services.
