Job summary

Montana State Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide skilled nursing in a geriatric psychiatric setting. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care for adults, guiding other nurses while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

Strong de-escalation and psychopharmacology knowledge are essential. A MT RN license and minimum 2 years of gero-psychiatric experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Montana.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing.
• Knowledge of nursing, medications, treatment planning, and patient rights.
• Proficiency with nursing instruments and equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform accurate documentation and patient assessments.
• Familiarity with patient care information systems.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• CPI certification is highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation for adult clients.
• Supervise and guide subordinate nursing personnel.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behaviors.
• Maintain thorough documentation and adherence to patient rights.
