Job summary

Bethesda Health Group is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to support a Physical Therapist in delivering goal-directed therapy, coordinating programs to restore patients to maximum function, and ensuring clear communication with the care team. The role requires an Associate degree in PTA, current state license, CPR certification, and a passion for geriatrics.

Experience with elderly rehab is preferred; new grads considered.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current State License.
• CPR certification or willingness to obtain within six months of employment.
• One to two years of geriatrics experience preferred.
• Qualified new graduates will be considered.
• Able to communicate well personally and professionally; responsible, initiative and honest.
• Demonstrates desire to work with elderly and rehabilitation populations.
• Requires mobility tasks including lifting and transferring patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering goal-directed therapy.
• Coordinate programs to restore patient functioning.
• Assess and adjust treatment plans; document progress.
• Provide caregiver training for discharge and home care.
• Participate in patient documentation and team communication.
• Support orientation of staff and students as needed.
