Job summary

Fallon Health seeks a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to provide and document the full range of PTA treatments under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. The role includes teaching and supervising affiliate PTA students and staff, and delivering education to patients and families.

Requirements include an associate degree, MA licensure or reciprocity, CPR certification, and at least 1 year of experience with elderly populations. On-site role with competitive hourly pay in MA.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
• CPR certification may be required or pursued within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision of a Physical Therapist, delivers age-appropriate patient care and completes competency assessments.
• Identifies and documents need for modification of treatment techniques and changes in patient status.
• Communicates acute changes in patient physiological status to the Physical Therapist and adjusts treatment per plan of care.
• Implements treatment procedures as specified in the plan of care and uses department equipment per protocols.
• Educates patients and caregivers, providing educational materials suited to patient and family needs.
• Instructs affiliate PTA students and staff, participating in clinical education and in-services.
• Meets department standards for scheduling and productivity.
