Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a nursing support role to collaborate with an interprofessional team in the delivery of quality patient care in a busy unit in San Diego. The position runs a long daytime shift (7:00 AM to 7:30 PM) with a 12/36 hour rotation and is covered by SEIU-UHW under a collective bargaining agreement.

Required AHA BLS for Healthcare Professionals and a high school diploma or equivalent are required; prior geriatric or acute care hospital experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• 1 Year recent experience in geriatric setting or recent experience in an acute care hospital (preferred)
• 1 Year experience as unit clerk/secretary (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the interprofessional team in the delivery of quality patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Delivers care with consideration to populations served including age specific needs/care.
• Contributes to overall unit functions and acts as coordinator of communication for the unit.
• Manages medical records and supports data entry and documentation.
• Assists in directing others during crises and communicates effectively with staff.
