Job summary

Majestic Care of Southport is seeking an Occupational Therapist (OT) to evaluate, plan, and implement individualized therapy for residents, focusing on ADLs, functional mobility, and independence in a geriatric setting.

As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations, develop treatment plans, supervise assistants, document progress, and educate residents and families on home programs and safety.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational therapy, preferably in a long-term care or geriatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess residents’ physical, cognitive, and psychosocial function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs), self-care tasks, functional mobility, and safety awareness.
• Implement occupational therapy interventions including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, adaptive equipment use, and task-specific activities.
• Monitor and document residents’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to support optimal outcomes.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercises, and strategies to promote independence and safety.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
