Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be licensed in the state(s) of practice as Occupational Therapist.
• NBCOT certification preferred for Sanford Health facilities.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required or within the first 60 days of employment.
• In Iowa/South Dakota, new graduates may be considered with a temporary license.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients/patients/residents and design occupational therapy treatments.
• Help clients/patients/residents develop, maintain and recover daily living activities.
• Evaluate physical, cognitive, developmental and psychosocial abilities and set therapy goals.
• Document patient information and establish and modify therapeutic plans as needed.
• Provide education to clients/patients/residents to improve outcomes and functional independence.
• May supervise assistants, aides, and students; participate in department education.
