Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan is hiring Nursing Assistants, Medical Assistants and Patient Care Technicians for the Day Health Center for Seniors in Detroit. PACE is a Best Place to Work certified organization focused on in-home, community, and center-based care for aging adults.

Role involves assisting with meals and personal care, promoting independence, documenting care, and following CMS/center guidelines. Requires HS diploma or GED, CPR, Michigan driver’s license, and 1 year of elder care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certificate from formal training program (Nurse Assistant, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, etc.).
• Current CPR card and Michigan driver's license are required.
• 1 year experience with frail or elderly population in care settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist participants with meals, hygiene and supports per care plans.
• Help participants toward independence within the center and dementia unit.
• Perform care per the participant's Care Plan and guidelines.
• Document accurately and timely; inform RN/clinic nurse of progress.
• Report complaints or schedule deviations to supervisor.
• Respond to emergencies according to policies and procedures.
• Work within established scope of practice.
