Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Experience: One year of experience as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant in any healthcare setting.

Notes:

• Experience in direct patient care can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis up to four years.
• Military service in relevant healthcare roles can substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Licenses, Registrations and Certifications

• Must possess and maintain a current Geriatric Nursing Assistant certification from the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
• CPR certification may be required.

Special Requirements

• Complete an in-service training program within three months of employment.
• Maintain current Geriatric Nursing Assistant registry status.
• May be required to be on call 24/7.
• Subject to substance abuse testing per Maryland regulations.
