Job summary

Augusta University, based in Georgia, seeks a Staff Nurse at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home campus. You will supervise nursing personnel and ensure individualized quality patient care, serving as supervisor for the facility in accordance with state, federal, VA and Joint Commission guidelines.

Must hold a Georgia RN license, active BLS/BCLS certification, and a nursing degree with geriatric care experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Nursing and experience in the care of geriatric patients in a long-term care environment.
• Current, active licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
• Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS/BCLS certification

Responsibilities

• PATIENT CARE: Assists nursing personnel in the administration for total patient care and serve as Charge Nurse or Medication Nurse for a nursing unit as assigned.
• NURSING SUPERVISOR: Serve as Nursing Supervisor for the facility. Provide support to nursing staff throughout the facility.
• RESOURCES: Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources.
• PROBLEM SOLVING: Participate in problem solving affecting the care of patients with complex needs by assisting in the development of individualized patient care plans.
• EMERGENCIES: Respond to emergency situations by initiating emergency procedures and documenting proper records of emergency care provided.
