Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy assistant with an Associate Degree.
• Current Texas State License to practice occupational therapy.
• Minimum of one year experience as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Minimum of one year of home health care experience.
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to working with the elderly.
• Strong clinical and assessment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Administers the occupational therapy treatment plan as developed by the OTR.
• Assess and facilitate interventions for ROM, strength, coordination, adaptive equipment, and functional mobility.
• Facilitate ROM/strength/coordination and functional mobility under supervision of the OTR.
• Apply infection control and universal precautions in patient care to prevent contamination.
• Accept clinical assignments aligned with education and competence.
• Communicate effectively with physicians and healthcare practitioners involved in the patient’s care.
• Participate in the Agency’s QAPI program and in-service training.
• Meet continuing education requirements and demonstrate professional growth and competency.
• Promote the Agency’s philosophy and policies to ensure high-quality care.
