Job summary

The Villages of Indiana is looking for a compassionate Caregiver/Medication Manager to provide personal assistance and administer medications for residents in our community. The role requires attention to residents’ daily living needs, safety, and well-being.

You will bathe, groom, monitor vital signs, assist with mobility, and support activity programming while ensuring privacy and dignity for each resident. Experience with geriatric care and CPR/First Aid is valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to obtain Medication Manager certification on-site at community if not already certified.
• Previous Healthcare, Geriatrics or experience working with the elderly population preferred.
• Desire to work with geriatric population.
• Training per state requirements
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Bathe and clean residents by bed bath, shower or whirlpool as needed.
• Follow medication administration protocols for each resident.
• Assist in grooming and personal care for residents (teeth, hair, nails, makeup, shaving).
• Make beds, change linens, and keep rooms tidy.
• Answer emergency calls promptly.
• Assist residents with bathroom needs and monitor continence.
• Record vital signs and report abnormal findings to nurse or Executive Director.
• Assist in transfers, ambulation, positioning and use of lifting devices.
• Provide activity programming and participate in resident activities.
• Assist in admission, transfer and discharge procedures and prepare rooms for new residents.
• Follow daily work assignments and universal precautions.
