Job summary

Mount Rogers Community Services Board seeks a Behavioral Aide to support geriatric individuals with Serious Mental Illness and Dementia. You will assist in implementing treatment goals and provide both individual and group services to promote development and social supports.

Under supervision, you will work with a self-directed team, participate in meetings, and apply person-centered care in daily activities, crisis interventions, and service planning.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license and safe driving record.
• Understanding of mental health, developmental, and substance use disorders.
• Ability to interact in a supportive, therapeutic manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized and group support to geriatric individuals with SMI/Dementia.
• Assist in implementing treatment goals under supervision.
• Intervene in crisis situations and refer as needed.
• Participate in team meetings and trainings.
• Develop and implement service plans with supervision.
