Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Registered Nurse who delivers age-appropriate, culturally sensitive care and coordinates care across settings. The nurse educates patients and families about healthy practices, uses the nursing process, and communicates effectively with the care team.

A strong candidate holds an ADN (BSN preferred), GA RN license, BLS, ACLS for critical areas, and 1+ year of RN experience; new grads are welcomed into Grady's Nurse Residency Program.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required.
• BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) strongly preferred.
• 1+ year of RN experience required.
• Current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) health care provider card required.
• ACLS certification required for all specified areas; new graduates must obtain within 90 days of employment in: All Critical Care, Emergency Care Center (ECC), GI/Cath Laboratory, Labor & Delivery, All Intermediate Care, Post Acute Care Unit (PACU).

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive patient care.
• Educate patients and families about healthy practices and treatment options.
• Assure continuity of care and coordinate across settings and caregivers.
• Manage information and communicate effectively using technology.
• Apply the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Demonstrate advocacy, leadership, problem solving, delegation, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
