Job summary

Valley West in Eugene, Oregon, seeks an Activities Assistant to assist the Director of Activities in planning, developing, organizing, and directing quality activities for patients, ensuring their recreational, physical, intellectual, spiritual, and social needs are met.

You will chart progress, escort patients, make in-room visits, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, upholding Life Care standards and providing excellent service.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Prior experience with geriatrics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating quality activity programs (entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and education).
• Appropriately and descriptively chart patient progress and behavior.
• Escort patients to and from activities.
• Make regular in room visits to patients uninterested or unable to participate in group activities.
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients.
• Assist in the evacuation of patients.
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance.
• Communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
