Ormat Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Well Engineer – Well Intervention & Workover to lead planning and execution for geothermal wells worldwide. You will work with drilling, production, and service providers to deliver safe, high-performance interventions.

The role emphasizes engineering leadership, risk management, and the development of standards for best practices in well intervention and integrity across assets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible well engineering experience with ownership of planning and execution.
• Experience planning and executing complex well intervention and workover operations.
• Experience with geothermal well interventions or comparable high-temperature, HPHT, or scaled operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and develop well intervention and workover programs from planning through execution and handover.
• Design and support complex operations including coiled tubing, wireline, fishing, casing remediation, and wellhead repair.
• Develop procedures, calculations, risk assessments, AFEs, and cost estimates for safe, efficient execution.
• Provide field support, troubleshoot technical challenges, and optimize well performance.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks with appropriate engineering barriers and mitigations.
• Coordinate with drilling, production, reservoir, HSE, operations, and contractors for campaigns.
• Lead contract management for intervention service lines and drive continuous improvement.
• Evaluate new technologies and practices to improve performance, safety, and cost efficiency.
