Job summary

Fervo invites a Seismology Intern to work in Houston on real geothermal risk projects for a 12-week summer program. You will own a project from day one, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams and applying data-driven methods to assess geologic and seismic risks.

Qualifications

• Advanced undergraduate, masters, or early PhD student in a STEM field
• Strong background in math, statistics, and data analysis
• Strong programming skills (Python preferred)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to stakeholders and leadership
• Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and adapt quickly to new challenges

Responsibilities

• Analyze Fervo’s historic datasets, as well as geologic and geographic data to improve the site-specificness of risk assessments
• Analyze operational data to improve real-time risk forecasting
