Job summary

Dandelion Energy, based in Maryland, is seeking an experienced Geothermal Driller to join our Field Ops team. This full-time, hourly role focuses on drilling vertical geothermal boreholes for residential and multifamily projects across Maryland, with relocation assistance available.

Qualifications

• Maryland residency or willingness to work in Maryland with travel to job sites across the state.
• 3+ years of geothermal or water well drilling experience, preferably residential or multifamily.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and borehole logs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
• Licensed Apprentice, Journeyman or Master Well Driller in Maryland.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs overhead and perform sustained physical labor in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Drill vertical geothermal boreholes to specification for residential and multifamily sites.
• Operate and maintain drilling rigs and equipment safely and per local regulations.
• Interpret site plans, logs, and designs to execute accurate borehole drilling.
• Coordinate with field ops, site supervisors, and subcontractors to support timelines.
• Document drilling activity, soil/rock conditions, depths, and grout details.
• Ensure compliance with Maryland and local regulations including permits and environmental protections.
• Mentor junior drillers on best practices and regulatory compliance.
• Support routine maintenance of drilling equipment and vehicles.
