Job summary

SCI Engineering, Inc. in St. Charles, Missouri is seeking a Staff Geologist to support our Geotechnical Services group. The role involves applying geological skills to projects with heavy soils, karst features, and construction oversight.

Customer-focused work includes environmental compliance, forensic investigations, and mentoring, with opportunities for professional growth and ongoing training. Fieldwork can be up to 80% with occasional overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Experience with GIS field data collection tools is preferred.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills are required.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record for business travel are required.
• Ability to travel out of town for up to 1 week at a time is preferred.
• Geotechnical laboratory testing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Project planning and coordination including subcontractor procurement, sampling and health and safety plan development, project management support with client and regulatory interfacing.
• Utility clearance coordination with one call (811) and private utility locators, clients, and contractors.
• Conduct geological field investigations and data collection.
• Assist with laboratory testing.
• Monitoring and oversight of construction projects including deep foundations, ground improvement installation, load testing, and retaining wall construction.
