Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Department Manager for Geotechnical Services in the Charlotte area. This senior role leads operations, finances, and strategy for the geotechnical department, focusing on client relationships, business development, and staff development.

The ideal candidate holds a PE license, a civil engineering degree, and 8+ years in geotechnical consulting, with proven leadership and budgeting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's degree with a geotechnical emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience with leadership and business development.
• Strong knowledge of regional geology and geotechnical practices in Charlotte area.

Responsibilities

• Lead department staff and manage performance, budgets, and business development.
• Oversee proposals, client relations, and project scoping from start to finish.
• Ensure QA/QC and technical leadership across geotechnical projects.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing geotechnical team.
• Develop and execute departmental strategy aligned with BLE leadership.
