Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) is seeking a Department Manager for Geotechnical Services in the Charlotte area. The role leads the department’s technical, financial, and business development efforts, building BLE’s local geotechnical practice and client network.

Ideal candidates have PE licensure, a civil engineering background, and 8+ years in geotechnical consulting, with a track record of leadership, project delivery, and client stewardship within BLE’s markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required; master's with geotechnical emphasis preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years in geotechnical or geostructural consulting with leadership.
• Experience with subsurface exploration, geotechnical analysis, and risk management.
• Strong knowledge of Charlotte region geology and practices.
• Demonstrated client relationships and business development ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the department's business development strategy with BLE leadership.
• Lead staff, manage budgets, profitability, and resource planning.
• Foster client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and represent BLE publicly.
• Oversee projects from scoping to delivery, ensuring quality and timely results.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC, and coaching to department staff.
• Collaborate with corporate teams to align with BLE's strategic goals.
