Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely related field by start date.
  • Demonstrated research experience in geotechnical engineering, soil stabilization, geomaterials, mineral carbonation, cementitious materials, or related processes.
  • Ability to conduct and communicate high-quality research, including peer-reviewed publications, reports, or conference presentations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, project sponsors, and external partners.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain authorization to access secured facilities as required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead research activities for the AS2 project and supervise graduate and undergraduate students.
  • Develop, evaluate, and document lab- and field-scale testing methodologies.
  • Analyze and interpret research data; prepare scholarly and technical outputs.
  • Teach two courses per academic year (one undergrad, one grad) in geotechnical engineering.
  • Pursue external funding and mentor students.
