NV5, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Registered Engineer in the Charlotte area to lead geotechnical engineering and CQA projects from inception through completion. The role requires PE licensure, a civil/geotechnical degree, and 4+ years of project management experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master’s preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• 4+ years of geotechnical engineering experience with a focus on project management.
• Proficient in geotechnical analysis software and other relevant engineering tools.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee geotechnical engineering and CQA projects from initiation to completion.
• Review project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring timelines and financial constraints are met.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform geotechnical analysis and assessments to determine soil and rock properties.
• Provide recommendations for foundation design, slope stability, and earth retention systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies and prepare geotechnical reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil engineers, architects, and environmental specialists.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address project requirements.
• Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure high standards.
• Review and approve design documents, calculations, and reports.
• Identify risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
