Intertek Columbus is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager to lead geotechnical projects in the Columbus area. You will oversee field exploration, lab services, and engineering analyses while ensuring high-quality reports and client satisfaction. The role involves mentoring staff and participating in business development, with travel expected to be under 5%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of progressive geotechnical engineering experience with active project management.
• Excellent communication, project management and organizational skills.
• Travel may be less than 5%.

What are we looking for?

The Geotechnical Project Manager is responsible for performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.

What you’ll do:

• Direct and execute one or all of the following geotechnical project assignments but not limited to field exploration, laboratory services, engineering analysis, report preparation and report technical review.


• Provide quality control review of proposals and reports and direct operations in a manner to consistently meet commitments to the clients.


• Actively participate in business development and marketing efforts while establishing and maintaining client relationships related to technical aspects of our client assignments.


• Responsible for the mentoring and training of senior and junior professional staff professionals.


• Actively participate in relationship building with professional and technical organizations.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering


• 3+ years of progressive Geotechnical Engineering experience with active project management experiencerequired


• Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills are essential


• Excellent understanding and knowledge of Geotechnical Engineering and related disciplines with the ability and desire to provide creative and practical solutions to meet the client's needs


• Expected travel - less than 5% of the time


• Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record (required)

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
