Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Geotechnical Project Manager I in Tempe, AZ to lead geotechnical and construction materials testing (CMT) projects from proposal through completion on lower-complexity assignments. You will coordinate scheduling, field activities, reporting, and client communications while building independent project management skills and upholding ECS values.

The role focuses on developing project management capabilities, mentoring junior staff, and supporting business

Qualifications

• Requires 2 years of related experience or more
• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar
• P.E. or P.G. preferred
• Valid driver's license if driving for ECS subsidiary
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of geotechnical principles and ASTM standards
• Ability to interpret field and lab testing results
• Developing client relationships and business development skills
• Basic knowledge of geotechnical software

Responsibilities

• Prepares geotechnical reports with analysis and recommendations
• Manages geotechnical and CMT projects including scheduling and delivery
• Reviews field reports for accuracy and completeness
• Handles project budgets, change orders, invoices and collections
• Prepares geotechnical and CMT proposals
• Begins ownership of projects from proposal to completion
• Oversees field activities including drilling and testing operations
• Prepares drilling packages and obtains utility clearances
• Supports technical decision-making with geological research
• Mentors junior staff and field personnel
• Interfaces with clients and participates in project discussions
• Performs other technical and project management tasks as assigned
