Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to join our Savannah, GA Earth and Environment Team. You will oversee geotechnical projects from proposal to closeout, manage schedules and budgets, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

This role offers remote flexibility with travel to WSP offices or project sites as required, a focus on safety and standards, and opportunities to advance within a global engineering leader.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geotechnical/Civil Engineering, Geosciences or related field.
• 7–10 years of geotechnical experience with at least 3 years in a project management role.
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, site characterization and lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage geotechnical projects from inception to completion.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to define requirements.
• Prepare investigation plans, testing programs and analyses.
• Oversee field investigations, site assessments and monitoring activities.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and regulations.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
• Mentor junior staff and project engineers.
• Maintain communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
