Job summary

Fugro seeks a Project Geologist to perform environmental and geotechnical site investigations in line with regulations. You will manage site projects, coordinate subcontractors, conduct geotechnical logging, and prepare engineering reports for clients at various project sites.

You will lead with a safety-first mindset, coordinate permits, review contracts, and contribute to cost estimates while maintaining clear client communication and timely reporting across onshore sites in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology from an accredited college or university is required.
• Master's degree or equivalent in Geological Engineering/Geology is preferred.
• Possess understanding and knowledge of natural resources, environmental science, and geosciences.
• Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications, including but not limited to MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and place Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and environmental protection as core values.
• Develop and prepare site exploration plans.
• Coordinate with property owners and agencies in obtaining permits for accessing sites and performing drilling.
• Coordinate with drillers and other agencies in scheduling drilling activities.
• Procure and mobilize consumables and tooling on projects.
• Logging and sampling of soil borings and test pits.
• Carry out geotechnical in-situ testing such as pressure meter testing, packer testing, in-situ density testing, etc.
• Data entry of laboratory test results and assisting with laboratory tests.
• Assist in the preparation of cost estimates and proposals.
• Assist in the preparation of engineering reports.
• Drive equipment to and from job location.
• Complete field assignments as directed.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Company safety rules and procedures.
• Work around potentially hazardous materials.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
