Job summary

HNTB in Maine is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to support a growing practice focused on highway, bridge, and transportation projects across Maine and New England. The role centers on geotechnical analyses, design calculations, reports, and recommendations for project delivery.

You will work with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to evaluate subsurface conditions, develop design options, and deliver practical solutions on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 6 years of relevant experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering plus 5 years of relevant experience.
• PhD in Engineering plus 4 years of relevant experience.
• PE certification is preferred for eligible disciplines.
• AICP certification may be required depending on discipline.

Responsibilities

• Plan and distribute discipline-specific work, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
• Assist with marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
• Develop scope of work and level of effort for projects within discipline.
• Oversee completeness and accuracy of team work; mentor staff.
• Coordinate project aspects with clients and teaming partners.
• Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects.
