Job summary
Jacobs is seeking a geotechnical engineer to provide expert review of consultant projects, including reports and contract plans for conventional geotechnical and dam projects.
You will work with in-house and consultant teams to develop construction documents, oversee field exploration programs, and review subsurface logs and laboratory testing to ensure safety and quality across projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, geology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience; dams and water resources a plus.
- Master's degree in civil engineering is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expert technical review for consultant projects, including reports, contract plans and specifications for geotechnical and dam projects.
- Review consultant-led design work on dam projects, including safety inspections and hazard classification assessments.
- Develop construction-level documents for geotechnical and dam projects as part of design teams.
- Coordinate geotechnical field exploration programs and review subsurface logs and lab results.
- Prepare design calculations for bearing capacity, settlements, deep foundations, excavation support, and pavement design.
