Job summary

The Misch Group is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer in California. The role involves project management, field investigations, analysis, and preparation of geotechnical reports for diverse civil projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant professional experience (recent graduates encouraged).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training in California.
  • Strong knowledge of soil and rock mechanics and geotechnical principles.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical (preliminary and forensic) investigations.
  • Perform field inspections and testing for construction projects.
  • Analyze data and prepare geotechnical reports on soil conditions and foundation design.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to develop solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance on geological/geotechnical issues throughout the project.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and safety protocols.
  • Manage projects from planning to completion.
  • Review plans and drawings for project specs compliance.
  • Generate cost proposals.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate with owners and designers.
