Job summary

Stone Hendricks Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage geotechnical and geological projects in California. You will perform field investigations, analyze data, and prepare reports while coordinating with architects, engineers, and construction teams.

The role requires 2+ years of relevant experience, a Civil Engineering degree with a Geotechnical focus, and CA PE/IE training. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are essential for project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Geotechnical focus.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training certification in California.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking with soil/rock mechanics knowledge.
  • Proficiency with geotechnical software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of California Building Code and related codes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations (preliminary and forensic).
  • Perform field inspections and testing for construction projects.
  • Analyze data and prepare geotechnical reports on soil conditions.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams.
  • Provide technical guidance on geological/geotechnical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Manage projects from planning to completion.
  • Participate in meetings and communicate with owners and designers.
