Job summary

Condon-Johnson & Associates in Denver seeks a Project Engineer to learn construction project management and the technical details of ground improvement, shoring, and foundation drilling, while assisting in job site management.

You will handle preliminary design, estimating, layout, data acquisition, scheduling and quality control; 3 to 5 years field experience encouraged; communicate with field personnel and strive to complete projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills are expected.
Field experience and willingness to work outside in various weather conditions is preferred.

Responsibilities

Review and utilize project plans, specifications, stand specifications, and soils reports.
Review project scope and budget.
Assist Project Manager to prepare all submittals and RFIs.
Assist Project Manager in pre-planning field work.
Prepare and review project video and pictures prior to start of construction for changes not noted on plans.
Attend job handoff meetings with Project Manager, Estimator, and Superintendent to review scope, schedule and production rates.
Attend weekly job site meetings as required.
Coordinate with Project Manager to submit close out documents (as-built, warranty letter, O&M manuals, punch list).
Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

PROJECT ENGINEER

In this position, you will learn the fundamentals of construction project management and the technical details of ground improvement, shoring, and foundation drilling while assisting in job site management. Activities include preliminary design, estimating, layout, data acquisition, scheduling, and quality control.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Attend job handoff meetings with Project Manager, Estimator, and Superintendent, prior to job start. Ensure everyone understands scope, schedule, and production rates required to complete the project at or below budgeted cost.
Attend weekly job site meetings, as required
Coordinate with Project Manager to submit all close out documents including as‑built, warranty letter, O&M manuals, and punch list required to complete the project
Complete other responsibilities as assigned
