Job summary

Advanced Infrastructure Design, Inc. (AID) is seeking an entry-level geotechnical/pavement engineer to perform field inspections, soil sampling, and pavement assessments across New Jersey and the Philadelphia region.

The role involves preparing plans, logging data, and supporting design tasks under senior supervision. You will work on subsurface investigations for foundations and pavements, with opportunities to grow in NDT and materials testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with focus on geotechnical and pavement engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred in geotechnical and/or pavement engineering.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience.
• EIT or Engineering Intern certification preferred.
• Ability to work across disciplines including geotechnical, pavement, materials testing, and NDT.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical boring and test pit inspections with soil/rock sampling for laboratory testing.
• Supervise pavement coring and soil field testing, collecting samples for lab analysis.
• Characterize subsurface conditions under guidance of geotechnical and pavement leads.
• Prepare boring/test pit/pavement location plans using CAD and mapping tools.
• Prepare daily field reports and maintain project documentation.
• Conduct geotechnical analyses including bearing, settlement, and stability assessments.
