Qualifications

• Experience with AASHTO/ASTM/VDOT/USACOE testing standards.
• Skilled in interpreting field and lab data.
• Project management experience leading teams.
• Familiar with heavy civil construction means and methods.
• Excellent written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction materials testing and Special Inspections with budget and client coordination.
• Develop testing proposals including scope of work and fee estimates.
• Prepare reports on testing and geotechnical evaluations.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Assess foundations, earthwork, concrete, masonry, steel, and asphalt.
• Interpret soil borings, geotechnical reports, and lab data for recommendations.
• Troubleshoot test results and field issues during construction.
• Perform field observations and coordinate construction phases.
• Manage and train testing staff on projects.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
