Job summary

GeoEngineers in Spokane, WA is seeking a Lab Technician to perform quality laboratory tests per standards and to support field work and project deliverables. The role includes maintaining equipment, ensuring safety, and assisting with lab procedures and documentation.

The position requires a High School Diploma (Associate degree preferred) and about 1 year of related experience, with strong math, writing, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree preferred.
• 1 year of related experience, preferably within a certified soils laboratory.
• Experience writing various laboratory analyses.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical information.
• Ability to perform mathematical and statistical calculations.
• Professional-level verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to consistently meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory tests such as triaxial compression, permeability, consolidation, shear, moisture/density, moisture content, hydrometer, Atterberg limits, max density, sieve analysis, and corrosion.
• Maintains laboratory and equipment cleanliness, safety, and calibration records.
• Supports compliance with standards by completing testing and documentation.
• Assists with soil sample inventory control and lab procedures documentation.
• Supports QC/QA with lab certification requirements as applicable.
