Keller is looking for a Geotechnical Lab Technician based out of ourHouston, TX location.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of standardized tests (including Moisture Contents, Atterberg Limits, Unconfined Compression, Direct Shear, etc.) on soils and aggregates, in addition to assisting with complex, non-routine testing, in accordance with ASTM and AASHTO specifications or other recognized standards.
- Reviews and understands specifications and general notes for assigned activities prior to performing duties.
- Prepare soil and concrete samples for testing including mix design analysis and review.
- Catalogs, prepares, analyzes, and reports results from the processing of soil samples.
- Maintain laboratory equipment in good condition, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Interact with Geotechnical Engineers and Project Managers to understand project requirements, discuss testing procedures and results, and provide recommendations for improvement

Qualifications
- Hold an associate's degree and/or have at least 3 years of experience in the geotechnical testing or construction industry, with a strong focus on Health and Safety.
- Must pass a drug screening, physical exam, background and motor vehicle record check.
- Good verbal and written communication skills for working in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to multitask and have good organizational and prioritizing skills to meet deadlines.
- Basic computer skills with heavy emphasis on Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
- Be able to lift up to 25 kg.
