Intertek-PSI, located in El Paso, Texas, is seeking a Soils Lab Technician I to support geotechnical testing, document results, and assist project teams in evaluating soil and material performance. No prior geotechnical lab experience is required; hands-on training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; training provided in lab procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand work plans, specifications, and instructions.
• Basic math and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of geotechnical laboratory tests under supervision and established procedures.
• Conduct tests such as Atterberg Limits, Sieve Analysis, UCS, CBR, Swell, and other soil tests.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment per company procedures.
• Document test data, observations, and results accurately.
• Review drawings and project documents to support testing activities.
• Prepare reports using standard lab methods and software tools.
• Support project observations and site assessment activities as needed.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and clients.
